Co Headline has modern, fashionable leanings, but as it is with nature, there is nothing superfluous in the typeface. The geometric (yet organic) curves combine to create only the most basic shape required for each letter. Co Text replaces some of its relative’s stylized glyphs with more familiar and readable forms.”

Inside Outside is a documentary about graffiti evolving. In an interview with PingMag, director Andreas Johnsen said that graffiti is no longer confined to hip-hop culture and tagging.

“A lot of young folks have started to express themselves by writing deeper messages instead of simply tagging.”

Johnsen adds that graffiti also represents how the world is changing.

“There are more kids who want to speak up and maybe they feel that they can’t really do it through regular media. They might be feeling that our leaders keep people down by not telling us the truth. The increase of ads we see on the streets could be another reason too…”

I first posted about New York-based photographer Phillip Toledano less than 2 weeks ago regarding his book PhoneSex.

Days With My Father is a photographic account of Toledano’s relationship with his father. In being motivated to capture the remaining time that they have together, he produced a poignant collection of images that lets us into the world of a man, who at 98 and with a short-term memory, is in the twilight of his years.

His images allow us to confront not only the frailties of the aged but also their thoughts on death and ambitions yet unfulfilled. While the tone is sombre, Toledano’s narrative reveals that there are lighter and heartwarming moments near the end of one’s life. And that with love, compassion and patience, they can be as rich and meaningful as any before.

Nine Inch Nails‘ The Slip is now available as a limited edition CD with bonus DVD. This will be a one-time only worldwide run of 250,000 individually numbered digipacks. Each digipack art directed by Rob Sheridan (whose portfolio is worth checking out in its own right) features a six-panel layout, 24 page booklet and athree sticker set. The bonus DVD includes 5 live performances filmed during rehearsals for Nine Inch Nails’ upcoming tour, including album tracks Echoplex, 1,000,000 and Letting You.

Vinyl fans however, will have to wait until August. What’s in store is a gatefold vinyl version of The Slip which contains one 180gm vinyl LP and a 24-page booklet.
